About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow our customer base across pharmaceutical, life sciences, and fine chemical markets. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate key accounts, and position our specialty chemical portfolio as the solution of choice for complex synthesis challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in target market segments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing, R&D, and technical decision-makers at key accounts
- Present technical product capabilities to customers with support from the R&D and applications teams
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through contract negotiation and closing
- Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with company growth objectives
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events to represent the company
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop customer-facing materials and campaigns
- Maintain accurate pipeline records and activity reporting in the CRM
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in specialty chemicals, life sciences, or related industries
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical or fine chemical supply chain
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- Existing relationships with procurement or R&D contacts at pharmaceutical or CRO/CDMO organizations
- Technical knowledge of reducing agents, boronic acids, or organometallic chemistry
- Experience selling into cGMP or API manufacturing environments
