Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

About the Role

Lead environmental, health, and safety programs at our Elma, Washington facility — one of the industry's most environmentally advanced chemical manufacturing sites. You will develop and implement EHS management systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion a safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS management systems and programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action programs
• Manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs including PHA, PSSR, and MOC processes
• Coordinate environmental permitting, monitoring, and reporting requirements (air, water, waste)
• Deliver EHS training programs for all site personnel
• Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and manage inspections and audits
• Track EHS performance metrics and report to site leadership on trends and improvement initiatives
• Lead site emergency response planning and drills

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119), EPA RMP, and RCRA requirements
• Experience managing air quality permits (Title V or state-level)
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
• Proficiency in EHS management information systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation
• Experience with near-zero waste or sustainability programs
• Knowledge of SOCMA ChemStewards® or similar responsible care programs
• Experience at facilities handling reactive metals or hydrides
