Process Engineer

About the Role

Join our Elma, Washington manufacturing team to optimize and scale specialty chemical production processes. You will work closely with R&D and operations to improve yield, safety, and product consistency across our hydride and boron chemistry lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for specialty chemical product lines
• Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, batch records, and process flow diagrams
• Collaborate with R&D to scale laboratory processes to full production scale
• Monitor key process parameters and implement corrective actions when deviations occur
• Support capital project execution including equipment specification, commissioning, and qualification
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for process deviations and quality events
• Identify and implement cost-reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling and process safety management (PSM)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hydride chemistry or reactive metal handling
• Knowledge of ISO quality management systems
• Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification
• Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments) methodology
