About the Role
Join our Elma, Washington manufacturing team to optimize and scale specialty chemical production processes. You will work closely with R&D and operations to improve yield, safety, and product consistency across our hydride and boron chemistry lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for specialty chemical product lines
- Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, batch records, and process flow diagrams
- Collaborate with R&D to scale laboratory processes to full production scale
- Monitor key process parameters and implement corrective actions when deviations occur
- Support capital project execution including equipment specification, commissioning, and qualification
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for process deviations and quality events
- Identify and implement cost-reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling and process safety management (PSM)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hydride chemistry or reactive metal handling
- Knowledge of ISO quality management systems
- Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification
- Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments) methodology
