About the Role
Manage payroll processing, expense reimbursements, and salary administration for our growing distributed workforce. This fully remote role ensures all employees — especially remote team members — are paid accurately and on time, and that company expenses are properly tracked, approved, and recorded. You will be a critical link between HR, Finance, and the remote workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll for US-based employees using payroll software (ADP, Gusto, or similar)
- Review, verify, and approve employee expense reports in accordance with company policy
- Maintain payroll records and support quarterly and annual tax filing processes
- Coordinate with HR to onboard new hires into the payroll system and update changes promptly
- Track remote worker allowances, equipment stipends, and reimbursable expenses
- Prepare payroll summaries and variance reports for Finance leadership review
- Respond to employee payroll and expense inquiries professionally and within agreed SLAs
Requirements
- 1–2 years of payroll processing or accounting experience
- Familiarity with payroll software such as ADP, Gusto, Paychex, or equivalent
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, or equivalent)
- High level of accuracy and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to meet recurring payroll deadlines reliably in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Experience managing payroll for remote or distributed teams across multiple states
- Knowledge of US federal and state payroll tax regulations
